George H. Meyer

George H. Meyer, 83, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at a Trinity care facility. He was born on December 23, 1942.
George was united in marriage to the love of his life, Geri Meyer, on May 29, 1965, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Fulda, North Dakota. Geri preceded him in death in September of 2021. Together, they built a beautiful life and began their family in 1966 with the birth of their daughter, Carla, followed by two loving sons, Jeff (Monica) Meyer and Terry (Andrea) Meyer.
George and Geri made their home in Rugby, North Dakota, before later moving to Minot.
George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and treasured a once-in-a-lifetime experience of elk hunting. He also enjoyed simpler pleasures like trips to the casino with Geri and relaxing at the family cabin on Rice Lake.
George dedicated many years of hard work to Bridgeman Creamery and Marketplace Foods, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. Alongside his wife, he also managed Western Village in Minot for many years.
He was a proud grandfather to Kyra Hansen, Matt (Beth) Meyer, Maci Severson, Zach (Lindsey) Meyer, Lucas (Tiana) Bruns, Kaylee (Mason) Bennett, and Reegan Meyer. He was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Raiden, Brinley, Riot, Lincoln, Nolan, Aiden, Evelyn, Emerson, Elsie, Roland, Lainey and Weston.
A man of faith, George was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot, North Dakota. He will be remembered as a kind, loving man who was deeply cherished by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Isabelle (Freze) Meyer; wife, Geri; and several siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Stray Sanctuary.
