Jerry Petersen

Jerry Petersen, 78, Ryder, ND, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, in his home, with his loving children at his side.
Jerry Allen Petersen was born on July 5, 1947, a son of Albert M. and Frances (Hansen) Petersen in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in the Ryder area.
On May 10, 1968, Jerry was united in marriage to Lilia Purvis. Together they had three children, Betty Jo, Jerrie and Terrie. They later divorced.
In December of 1977, Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Robinson. Together they had two children, Billie and Tony. They later divorced.
Jerry was a very hard worker, who held various positions throughout his lifetime, his favorite was driving truck and working in the construction field. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Jerry is survived by his children: Jerrie (Richard) Barnette; Terrie Petersen, Billie (Chris) Miller, Tony Petersen; Eleven grandchildren: Joshua (Heather) Petersen, Ashley (Chris) Jones, Tyler Barnette, Chad (Katherine) Fritz, Cody Fritz, Brooklyn Peterson, London (Riley) Schick, Paytin Miller, Damion Petersen, Skyllar Petersen, Cash Petersen; numerous great-grandchildren: siblings: Sandra (Ron) Reeves, David (Sandy) Eshenko, Alvearna Kowalski; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Betty Jo, son-in-law Art Miller, and a great grandchild Colt.
A celebration of life service will take place at a date to be determined.
