Stella Harper, 94, Minot, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in a Garrison care center.

Stella Daleness Harper passed away on July 23, 2025 at the Benedictine Living Center of Garrison at the age of 94. Stella was born on February 21, 1931, the youngest of the eight children born to Ole and Sina (Pederson) Daleness in McLean County, near Roseglen,ND.
On July 29th, 1952 Stella married Harry L Harper in Minot, ND. They made their home in Velva and Riverdale, ND before settling in Minot. In 1953 they were greatly blessed with the birth of their daughter Sharmi Anne. This family of three made their home in Minot for many years with their ‘beloved condo’ being their retirement home.
Stella received a bachelor’s degree from Minot State College in 1960. Stella retired from Longfellow Elementary in 1989 after being a teacher for 29 years. But she was not done teaching yet! Her love of teaching carried on with her tutoring students in her home.
Early in their marriage Harry and Stella purchased a lake lot at Lake Metigoshe with Harry’s brother. They enjoyed many visits to the lake with family and friends. The family of three also enjoyed cross-country skiing together in the winter.
Stella attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Minot where she loved to participate in singing and other activities. Stella was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Stella was a great help in her daughter’s jewelry business. She was a great model for many pieces of jewelry as she was a very classy lady. She would help her daughter host jewelry parties and also helped once a year at Sharmi’s jewelry booth at the Minot Hostfest.
Stella and her daughter loved to host parties and entertain guests. Christmas was an especially special time of year to Stella; she loved Christmas and visiting with her relatives.
Stella will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and other surviving relatives and faithful friends.
Stella is preceded in death by her Husband Harry, daughter Sharmi, parents and all her brothers and sisters.
Memorials are preferred to For Belle’s Sake Rescue or Domestic Violence Crisis Center.
